The Forehand Arms Company 1898-1902 Perfection Automatic was chambered for the.32 S&W or.38 S&W cartridges (centerfire). Hopkins and Allen Arms Company purchased Forehand Arms Company in 1902 and continued producing the Perfection Automatic under the Forehand name until 1907 when H & A upgraded their line of firearms. None of my references indicate that the Forehand branded handguns (either Forehand or H & A production) were produced for smokeless powder cartridges and I have to assume they were chambered for the Black Powder versions of the.32 S&W and.38 S&W cartridges. Black Powder ammunition in.32 S&W and.38 S&W is generally available from: [Broken link] Retail value for a gun in good or better condition would range from $100 to $150 depending on mechanical and bore condition and remaining original metal finish. Serenty79: By definition, a 'Suicide Special' is a single action, solid frame, metallic cartridge revolver with spur trigger rigid cylinders freed by the removal of a center pin. While Forehand and Wadsworth made a significant quantity of 'Suicide Specials' into the 1880's, production was gradually reduced and discontinued by 1890 when Sullivan Forehand changed the company to Forehand Arms Company. Forehand Arms Company did not make any 'Suicide Special' models in the period 1890-1902 when the company was sold to Hopkins and Allen Arms Company. Was purchased by Hopkins & Allen in 1902 and some of the pistol designs were produced by H&A for many years after that with the Hopkins & Allen name on them. In good condition (which should be judged by a competent gunsmith) it can be fired with.32 S&W black powder cartridges. I have put.32 S&W Short smokeless cartridges through them on occasion but this will definitely damage the gun if more than a few are fired in it, and can cause it come 'unglued' if it is not in good condition. Hope this helps a little.
